i was told dealerships will pay for training by the manufacturer i hired. and i don't need to hear about how much techs work and how little they get paid for it.

They wouldn't want to have to show you where the spark plugs are located or how to change a tire. For something like tires and lube, you shouldn't need any specific certifications. Contact the dealership you are wanting to apply with to get the basic information.
