I cant pass the math portion of the CPAt (smaller ACT) for carrington college and i failed my 3rd time to get into the radiography program there. Pima medical has entrance requirements too but they include wonderlic and other combining points to get in, like an interview. Im only worried about any math that may flunk my WHOLE point system (regardless of how well i may do in other areas) and ruin my chances of getting in. I am looking to go with them because i really really want to be an MRI technician. I am an Airforce Vet who was an Aircraft Mechanic, i am excited about this potential career change and have been for months now, i am tired of the unstable blue collar contract jobs. Should i pursue or should i accept that maybe math will always keep me down??
Look, the solution is simple. Start reviewing math from step one: 1+1=2. There must be practice tests and then you dig into the psychological aspect of testing. Are you freaked out by the test? This is pure confidence and pure confidence arrives with knowledge. Knowledge arrives from studying and practicing and practicing and practicing. And then you practice a bit more. IF the math is the issue, then address the math. Math is a conceptualized invention of man. It is about formulas and numbers and steps to take. Steps to take are memorized.DO NOT GIVE UP. Work even more towards your dream. Many others, less capable than you, have reached their goal because they did not gave up!!!!! Get a tutor. Get online programs. Get going. Taking the test without proper and remedial preparation is pointless. OK? You must get ready. Go. Get started. The preparation for this degree is like a screening. Being an MRI tech is nothing complicated. The certification might be. Best of luck.
